The presentation discusses the factors that determine the business viability of the city gas distribution (CGD) projects. The energy market trends are largely changing the business landscape. Currently, the margin attractiveness prompts CGD companies to focus on compressed natural gas (CNG) and commercial customers. It also throws light on the new business models that are being adopted such as Dealer Owned Dealer Operated (DODO) . DODO model is expected to not only reduce the cost of setting up CNG filling stations for CGD entities but also provide private players and investors to become partners in the gas-based economy.

In the 17th edition City Gas Distribution in India  conference organised by India Infrastructure Publishing, Praveen Dash, Manager, PwC made a presentation on the alternative business models in CGD sector.
