Compressed natural gas (CNG) prices are witnessing a hike in Nagpur, with CNG becoming a costlier source of fuel than diesel and petrol in the city. As of March 7, 2022, CNG costs Rs 120 per kg in Nagpur, while the price of petrol stands at Rs 109.75 per litre and diesel at Rs 92.51 litre.

Amid the CNG price hike, there is also a shortage of CNG at two fuel stations of Rawmatt Industries due to an increase in liquified natural gas prices in the international market (Yashodhara Nagar and Wadi); and is the only agency that runs CNG stations in Nagpur. Moreover, autorickshaw drivers who replaced their petrol-fuelled three-wheelers with CNG are also distressed due to ascending CNG prices.
