The Mahanagar Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) has obtained all necessary permissions and is set to commence trial operation of its liquified natural gas (LNG) – compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion plant in Pathardi. The plant is expected to be ready for commercial operation within a month. Nearly 18,000 kg of CNG is said to have been produced on first day of the trial. Reportedly, the plant will be able to produce a total of 0.1 million kg of CNG per day. The plant will also be enhanced gradually, with CNG being supplied to the outlets in the city.
In addition to this, MNGL will also be providing adequate CNG to Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited for its CNG buses, while it continues to supply the eco-friendly fuel to 100 CNG buses of Nashik Municipal Corporation. MNGL plans on supplying CNG to the remaining buses within the next few days once the LNG-CNG conversion plant becomes operational.
