Gail (India) Limited is likely to provide piped natural gas (PNG) supply to every household at a cheaper rate in Jamshedpur soon. Recently, Jamshedpur has been linked to Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Project.
It is laying two pipelines under the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Project, the Barauni Guwahati Natural Gas Project and the Jagdishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra Gas Pipeline Project. As a part of the project, it would develop end-routes city gas distribution projects at Varanasi, Patna, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
