India’s largest compressed natural gas (CNG) retailer, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is set to invest about Rs 80 billion in the coming five years so as to expand the network of CNG stations and pipelines in the country. Currently, the company conducts major operations in Delhi and its adjoining cities. It is looking forward to expand its network to Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana as well. As a part of its expansion plan, IGL also aims at increasing CNG stations from 711 to 1,100 and piped natural gas (PNG) connections from 2 million to 2.7 million in the coming five years. It is also looking forward to set up around 50 battery swapping facilities for electric vehicles in Delhi.
