The construction work of the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda natural gas pipeline is likely to be completed by September 2025.
The Mumbai-Nagpur stretch is mechanically complete except 1 km spread across multiple patches. Additionally, Nagpur-Jharsuguda and Nagpur-Jabalpur stretches have achieved 98 per cent and 97 per cent mechanical progress, respectively.
Besides, the project cost is likely to increase from Rs 78.44 billion to Rs 82.55 billion.
The project involves laying, building, operating or expanding a natural gas pipeline from Mumbai (Maharashtra) to Jharsuguda (Odisha) through Nagpur, Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh along with spurline to Nagpur- Chhindwara- Jabalpur spanning about 1,702 km with an initial system capacity of at least 10 million standard cubic meters a day (mmscmd).
