IOCL likely to supply LNG for Andaman and Nicobar’s power plant

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is likely to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ first gas-based power plant. 

Currently, land acquisition is in progress and the construction work on the 50 MW plant is likely to be completed by 2027-28. 

The project is being developed by NTPC, India’s largest power producer. Once operational, the plant will replace diesel-based power generation on the main island, supporting the shift towards cleaner energy.
