Ace Energy Infrastructure Private Limited has achieved breakthrough of the 1.2 km long, 1.6 m diameter tunnel under the confluence of Kanamakra, Aie and Manas river in Chirang district of Assam for Barauni-Guwahati Natural Gas Pipeline Project.

Besides, the works for installation of 24” carbon steel (CS) pipeline within the tunnel for transportation of natural gas is likely to commence soon. 

The project, being developed by GAIL (India) Limited under the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga (PMUG) project, involves laying of 729 km long natural gas pipeline between Barauni and Guwahati in the states of Bihar and Assam, respectively, which will link the north-eastern part of the country with the national grid to meet increasing fuel needs of households and factories in the region.
