Ujjain Municipal Corporation is planning to set up a second bio compressed natural gas (CNG) plant at Gondia trenching ground, Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, GAIL (India) Limited and NTPC Limited have evinced interest in setting up the plant. The construction work will start in the next 6 months.
Ujjain generates about 230 tpd of garbage everyday. Out of this, around 60 per cent is wet waste and 40 per cent is dry waste. Currently, the state has only one bio-CNG plant at Indore.
