Torrent Gas Private Limited (TGPL) has commenced the supply of piped natural gas to 14 households at Seeyathamangai village in Thirumarugal block of Nagapattinam district on June 18, 2022. A target of connecting 0.16 million households in Nagapattinam and Karaikal districts has been set.
Meanwhile, TGPL had also commissioned Tamil Nadu’s first compressed natural gas (CNG) outlet at Nagapattinam. The station is co-located at a retail outlet run by Indian Oil Corporation Limited. TGPL has tied up with GAIL (India) Limited for supply of CNG through the city gate station located at Tirumarugal. The retail price of CNG in Nagapattinam has been fixed at Rs 60 per kg.
