Works for providing piped natural gas (PNG) to Maharashtra’s first integrated Palava Township located in Dombivli are expected to commence soon. The work for supply of PNG have been undertaken by Mahanagar Gas Limited. Transportation of PNG through offline means will also commence. Reportedly, the main gas pipeline is available at Manpada area in Dombivli. The extension of the same pipeline up to Palava township of around 4 km has been initiated. The works include various challenges such as limited corridor adjacent to the trees, existing cluster of utilities, parallel road concretisation work and railway crossing before Palava Township.
It is expected that online gas supply will take two to three years after clearance of all technical hurdles. MGL is at concluding stage and planning for offline supply to initiate pilot project at Lodha Palava Phase-2 shortly. After satisfactory completion and mutual agreement on technical and commercial points, they will take up execution in phased manner.
