In a bid to provide relief to city gas distribution (CGD) entities, government of India has revised the guidelines for domestic gas supply to compressed natural gas (CNG) for transportation and piped natural gas (PNG) for domestic purposes. It was majorly focused upon the rising prices of domestic gas as well as an upward revision in gas supply to CGD companies by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL). This step has been taken after CGD companies reached out the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) for increasing allocation in both PNG and CNG segments. The companies are rapidly expanding their network and require quarterly revision of allocation towards better assessment of demand.
