Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) is set to build India’s largest proton exchange membrane (PEM) hydrolyser at GAIL’s Vijaipur complex in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. This is being done to produce green hydrogen, the cleanest form of hydrogen with zero carbon emission by the end of 2023. GAIL has awarded the contract to set-up the PEM based project that will produce around 4.3 tonnes of green hydrogen which will further be mixed in natural gas for supply to industries.
