In a major development, Gail Gas Limited, a subsidiary of GAIL India Limited will be commissioning seven compressed natural gas stations (CNG) within a week in different parts of Mangaluru. The technical equipment for seven CNG stations has already been installed at seven petrol pumps being operated by public sector oil marketing companies. These stations are currently undergoing testing and validation by the concerned authorities.

GAIL Gas Limited is planning to open at least 15 CNG stations in the Dakshina Kanada district of Karnataka by the end of 2021. Moreover, the company has set a target of establishing 100 CNG stations across Dakshina Kannada in the next eight years.
