RIL, ATGL plans to set up 10 CBG plants each

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) are planning to set up 10 compressed biogas (CBG) plants each across the country at an individual investment of around Rs 25 billion. The plants would have production capacity of 30 million tonnes per annum(mtpa).

Five such plants are likely to come up in the next five years while the remaining would be set up at a later stage. 

Moreover, RIL would establish five CBG plants out of 10 in the state of Gujarat. 

Currently, CBG plant with production capacity of 600 tonnes per day (tpd) is under construction in Uttar Pradesh and is likely to commence production by March 2024.
