Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has sought views for the development of Kakinada- Srikakulam Gas Pipeline.
Earlier, it had authorised Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corporation Private Limited (APGDC) for implementation of the project, however, in December 2023, the authorisation was cancelled.
The project involves laying natural gas pipeline from Kakinada to Srikakulam via Pithapuram, Anakapalle and Vizianagaram with a minimum system capacity of 20 million metric standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd). The pipeline will originate from Kakinada and connect to GAIL (India) Limited’s KG Basin natural gas pipeline network, Pipeline Infrastructure Limited’s East West Gas Pipeline (EWPL) and IMC Limited’s under construction Kakinada- Nellore natural gas pipeline and will terminate at Srikakulam and connect to GAIL’s Srikakulam- Angul natural gas pipeline.
