Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has sought bids for sale of 0.05 million metric standard cubic metre per day (mmscmd) coal bed methane (CBM) gas from its North Karanpura CBM block.
The gas would be available for a period of three years from gas metering station at NK#6 in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. The buyers have been asked to quote a premium over and above the monthly domestic natural gas price, USD 7.82 per million British thermal unit (mBtu).
The North Karanpura CBM Block, NK-CBM-2001/1 lies in the eastern part of North Karanpura coalfield in Jharkhand over an area of 340 square km. The block has been awarded to ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Prabha Energy Private Limited with participating interest of 55 per cent, 20 per cent and 25 per cent, respectively under production sharing contract (PSC).
