Megha City Gas Distribution Private Limited has slashed the price of piped natural gas (PNG) by Rs 2 per standard cubic meter (scm) in the Tumkur and Belagavi geographical area (GA) of Karnataka. The revised PNG price stands at Rs 50 per scm.

Besides, it has also reduced the price of domestic PNG by Rs 1 per scm to Rs 50 per scm in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh and to Rs 49 per scm in Khammam, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy and Warangal districts of Telangana.

The reduction is in line with the government’s mission to make supply of domestic PNG affordable to end consumers.

In the eleventh city gas distribution (CGD) bidding round by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), Megha Gas has bagged licences for 15 GAs across the country. It has won GAs in nine states, i.e., Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
