Mahanagar Gas Limited has increased the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) in Mumbai from July 14, 2021. The price of CNG has increased by Rs 2.58 per kg and will be priced at Rs 51.98 per kg, while the price of PNG has increased by Rs 0.55 standard cubic meter (SCM). PNG will be available at Rs 30.40 per SCM in slab one and Rs 36.00 per SCM in slab two.
The majority of autorickshaws and black and yellow taxis in Mumbai run on CNG. Further, a significant number of BEST buses and public transport vehicles such as app-based taxis also use CNG.
