In a notable development, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has inaugurated piped natural gas (PNG) connection at Salem in Tamil Nadu.
PNG was supplied to 50 houses initially, and around 450 more houses are likely to get PNG connections soon.
IOCL has allocated Rs 13 billion for supply of PNG to 0.33 million houses. Besides, it is likely to extend the connection to Jageer Ammapalayam, Tiruvagoundanur and other parts of the district.
