IOC GPS Renewables, the joint venture (JV) of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and GPS Renewables Private Limited is planning to develop 10 compressed biogas (CBG) plants in the financial year (FY) 2025-26.
The plants would have the capacity to produce 15 tonnes per day (tpd) of CBG and 50 tpd fertilisers and biomass pellets entailing an investment of Rs 12 billion.
The plants are being established in locations including Karnal, Kaithal, and Sirsa in Haryana; Jaunpur, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh; Bemetara in Chhattisgarh; and NTR in Andhra Pradesh. Besides, land leases for all 10 sites have been secured, and construction is likely to commence soon.
