Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has extended the bid due date for grant of authorisation for the Kochi- Kanyakumari- Thoothukudi natural gas pipeline from April 21, 2025 to May 6, 2025. Bids for the same were invited in October 2024.
The project involves laying, building or operating 425 km of natural gas pipeline from Kochi in Kerala to Thoothukudi (Tuticorin) in Tamil Nadu via Kottayam, Kottarakkara, Kattakkada and Nagarcoil with initial system capacity of 6 million metric standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd). The proposed pipeline will originate from Kochi-Kanjirakode-Bangalore/Mangalore gas pipeline or Petronet LNG Limited’s (PLL) Kochi liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and will further connect to Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s (IOCL) Ennore-Tuticorin natural gas pipeline at Tuticorin.
