Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has accorded investment approval for the Kochi- Kanyakumari- Thoothukudi Natural Gas Pipeline Project at estimated cost of Rs 24.49 billion on September 21, 2026.
The project involves laying, building or operating 424.65 km of natural gas pipeline from Kochi in Kerala to Thoothukudi (Tuticorin) in Tamil Nadu via Kottayam, Kottarakkara, Kattakkada and Nagarcoil with initial system capacity of 6.84 million metric standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd) (including Common carrier capacity of at least 1.71 mmscmd). The proposed pipeline will originate from Kochi-Kanjirakode-Bangalore/Mangalore Gas Pipeline Project or Petronet LNG Limited’s (PLL) Kochi liquefied natural gas (LNG) Terminal Project and will further connect to Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s (IOCL) Ennore-Tuticorin natural gas pipeline at Tuticorin.
