The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) (ISM) Dhanbad has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GAIL Gas Limited for the development of piped natural gas (PNG) infrastructure across its campus.
As per the MoU, GAIL Gas Limited would be responsible for the construction of the pipeline network for PNG supply to residential quarters, hostels, mess halls, and canteen facilities. Each connection would feature individual metering with bimonthly billing tied to actual consumption. The collaboration aligns with the central government’s initiative to transition to a natural gas–based economy.
