In a notable development, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two technology partners for establishing 19 compressed biogas (CBG) plants across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

As per the MoU, about 0.45 million metric standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd) biogas produced from waste would be utilised for IGL’s city gas distribution (CGD) network.

Besides, IGL has also enlisted two additional partners for setting up the plants.

IGL is an Indian natural gas distribution company that supplies natural gas as cooking and vehicular fuel. Established in 1998, the company operates primarily in Delhi-NCR and its neighbouring cities.
