In a notable development, Gujarat Gas Limited has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for various works including the development of compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure at HPCL outlets.

The MoU envisages establishment of CNG facility at HPCL company owned company operated (COCO) outlets. Besides, HPCL would supply liquid fuels, automotive lubricants, greases and specialties at Gujarat Gas outlets while Gujarat Gas would establish CNG mother facility at HPCL outlets.

Gujarat Gas is one of the country’s largest city gas distribution (CGD) companies operating in 44 districts in 6 states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh and Union territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

HPCL is one of the largest integrated public sector undertakings (PSU), engaged in the business of refining crude oil and marketing of various petroleum products.
