The cabinet of Government of Karnataka (GoK) has granted its approval for State Policy for the Development of City Gas Distribution Network. The policy would promote the adoption of natural gas as green and clean alternative along with ensuring smoother implementation of the CGD infrastructure.
Moreover, it would help CGD entities to provide uninterrupted supply of natural gas and would encourage its use for household, industrial and commercial purposes. The policy would also ensure timely grant of permissions and clearances to the CGD entities. Besides, it is also likely to encourage CGD entities to set up compressed biogas (CBG) plants in collaboration with local bodies.
