Green Gas Limited (GGL), a joint venture of GAIL (India) Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited, is all set to supply natural gas for cooking and transportation purposes to Ayodhya. The city was included in the ninth round of bidding undertaken by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). The responsibility has been providing to GGL, which already operates in Lucknow and Agra.

At present, GGL is operating in four geographical areas (GAs) and provides piped natural gas to over 100,000 consumers and runs 61 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations. PNGRB has allowed GGL to expand base in Sultanpur and Unnao, along with Ayodhya.

According to GGL, it plans to invest Rs 16 billion in the development of city gas distribution network in all its authorized GAs in next five years. Besides setting up CNG stations, it will also provide natural gas to domestic, industrial and commercial. Currently, GGL is undertaking works in full swing with all attention to Covid-19 precautions.
