GAIL (India) Limited is planning to set up wet waste to biogas plant at waste disposal site in Sarai village in Haridwar municipal area, Uttarakhand. The municipal corporation of Haridwar is likely to allot land for setting up the plant.
Haridwar generates about 200 metric tonnes of domestic waste everyday. Out of this, around 60 per cent is wet waste which can be used to produce biogas.
