Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) has invited bids for setting up a bio-methanation plant to produce bio compressed natural gas (CNG) using organic waste.The successful bidder is likely to complete the work within nine months and the period for operation and maintenance is 15 years. 

The plant will have production capacity of 50 tonnes and is likely to come up at Yelahanka in the state of Karnataka. It entails an investment of Rs 220 million. 

Besides, BBMP is also planning to set a 500-tonne plant in the city.
