GAIL (India) Limited has completed final round of testing for the 700 km Mumbai-Nagpur section of the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline Project. It is likely to begin the supply of compressed natural gas (CNG) to Nagpur soon. 

The project involves laying, building, operating or expanding a natural gas pipeline from Mumbai (Maharashtra) to Jharsuguda (Odisha) through Nagpur, Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh along with spurline to Nagpur- Chhindwara- Jabalpur spanning about 1,780 km with an initial system capacity of at least 10 million standard cubic meters a day (mmscmd).
