In a notable development, JSW Energy Limited commissioned a green hydrogen plant at Vijayanagar in Karnataka on November 11, 2025. The project is under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme- Tranche I.
The plant has a capacity of 3,800 tonnes per annum (tpa) green hydrogen along with 30,000 tpa green oxygen which would be supplied to nearby JSW Steel facility for low-carbon steel production under a seven year offtake agreement with JSW Steel Limited.
Additionally, the firm has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSW Steel for supplying 85,000 to 90,000 tpa green hydrogen and 720,000 tpa green oxygen by 2030.
