The construction work on the Brahmapuram bio- compressed natural gas (CNG) plant is likely to be completed by March 2025.
Besides, the trial run is scheduled to start in the first week of April 2025.
The plant will initially have the capacity to process 150 tonnes per day (tpd), with the potential to expand to 300 tpd.
The project is being carried out by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) Kochi Refinery at Brahmapuram, Kochi in Kerala. It has been provided with over 10 acres of land, water and electricity to lay pipelines for setting up the plant to convert organic waste into bio-CNG.
