In order to push the city gas distribution (CGD) network, the Central Government is planning on reducing the domestic gas supply to the power sector. This is because the daily gas demand in the CGD sector has increased by 1 mmscmd.

Further, nearly 10 power plants with 8,000 MW capacity operate on domestic administered pricing mechanism (APM) gas. This move is expected to reduce the allocation to fertiliser sector from 15 per cent to 10 cent.
