Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has set up Compressed Biogas (CBG) ecosystem in Satna.

It aims to convert waste generated in and around Satna into biogas, then upgrade it into CBG and supply through the existing gas network to meet local energy needs.

The waste based CBG will be used for domestic and commercial piped natural gas (PNG) connections and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles.

The ecosystem is a part of BPCL’s The Good Print Solution for nation, which is decentralised model that aims to convert local waste into clean energy

Around 7 percent CBG is currently being blended across BPCL’s City Gas Distribution (CGD) operations in India and is expected to increase in future as more plants become operational. It is expanding its network through partnerships with producers across India
