In line with Swachh Bharat Mission, Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) is planning to set up several cow dung to biogas plants in Uttar Pradesh. The plants will be linked to cowsheds to generate electricity and fertilisers in rural areas.
Rs 5 million has been allocated to each district under the Swachh Bharat Mission. The plants will be set up under the Gobardhan Yojana.
Besides, GoUP has completed construction of such plants in 20 districts while 60 plants are under construction in 38 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
