In a major development, AG&P has initiated the groundwork for supplying piped natural gas supply in Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Ramanathapuram, Vellore, Ranipet and Tirupattur geographical areas in Tamil Nadu. In Ramanathapuram, the company is aiming to provide 41,000 connections and set up 11 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations. Meanwhile, in Kancheepuram the company is targeting 1.1 million connections and installation of 111 CNG stations. Moreover, lands have been purchased in Vellore for liquefied natural gas stations, the first of which are expected to be commissioned by October 2021.

AG&P recently opened its first natural gas station in Ramanathapuram under its brand AG&P Pratham and is planning to commission 30 CNG stations by the end of 2021. The newly inaugurated station will receive gas supply from GAIL’s gas treatment facility and distribute it to CNG stations in the district.
