More than 5,900 CNG stations established across the country

As of August 2023, about 5,953 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations have been established across the country. This is an increase of 371 per cent as compared to the 1,263 CNG stations in India in August 2017.

This includes around 996 CNG stations in Gujarat, which is followed by Uttar Pradesh with 827 stations, 787 in Maharashtra and 481 in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).
