Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) has achieved about 23.5 per cent physical progress, i.e. 28 km of the total Mizoram-Tripura section 119 km under the North-East Natural Gas Pipeline Grid Project. 

Additionally, IGGL has commenced gas supply to Numaligarh Refinery under the project. The gas is being supplied through the 554 km Guwahati–Numaligarh Pipeline (GNPL) which was laid under Phase-I .

The North-East natural gas pipeline grid involves development, operation and maintenance (O&M) of a natural gas pipeline connecting eight states viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura at an investment of Rs 100 billion. It is being implemented by IGGL, a joint venture (JV) company of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), GAIL (India) Limited, Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL).
