Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited and Everenviro Resource Management Private Limited have signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish compressed biogas (CBG) plants in Uttar Pradesh.

As per the MoU, Everenviro would oversee the development, operation and expansion of the plants with combined capacity of 70 metric tonnes per day (tpd).

Besides, Bajaj Sugar would have the flexibility to choose between selling press-mud at predetermined long-term prices or engaging in the project through acquiring equity in collaboration with EverEnviro.

The collaboration aligns with the union government’s initiatives to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources.

Bajaj Sugar is the country’s leading sugar and ethanol manufacturing company. It generates around 500,000 metric tonnes per annum (tpa) press mud from its 14 operational sugar mills, presenting the potential to facilitate the establishment of CBG plants.

EverEnviro is the country’s leading CBG entity having projects in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab.
