GAIL (India) Limited is planning to set up a waste to compressed natural gas (CNG) plant in Ujjain entailing an investment of Rs 0.3 billion.
Recently, Smart city has approved the proposal put forth by GAIL to set up the plant and construction work is likely to begin once the Ujjain Municipal Corporation signs an agreement for the same.
The plant will be set up by GAIL on land near the corporation’s garbage plant on MR 4 road. The corporation would provide waste as feedstock for the production of gas while GAIL will bear the entire project cost.
