Around 71 compressed bio gas (CBG) plants have been successfully commissioned under sustainable alternative towards affordable transportation (SATAT) initiative of Ministry of Petroluem and Natural Gas (MoPNG) till June 2023.
The successful commissioning of the plants has contributed to the overall target of 15 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of CBG production.
In October 2018, MoPNG launched SATAT initiative in order to establish an ecosystem for production of CBG from waste, biomass and promoting its use along with natural gas.
