Government of Punjab (GoP) has laid foundation stone for Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant at Haibowai. The project is aimed at tackling sewer blockages and pollution in Budha Nallah by scientifically processing cattle dung generated at the dairy complex.

The plant is being set up at an area of about 2.5 acres with capacity of 300 tonnes of cattle dung every day and produce five tonnes of CBG and organic bio-fertiliser. It entails an investment of 650 million, and is likely to be commissioned by September 2027.

It is likely to benefit 435 dairy owners under the Waste-to-Wealth mission, and produce about five tonnes of CBG and organic bio-fertiliser daily.
