The preliminary works on compressed biogas (CBG) plant at Brahmapuram, Kochi are likely to commence soon.
Earlier, the Kochi Municipal Corporation had allocated 10 acres of land for setting up the plant.
The project includes construction of CBG plant to convert 150 tonnes per day (tpd) organic waste into biogas. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) will be provided with the necessary land, water and electricity to lay pipelines for setting up the plant for conversion of organic waste into CBG. The estimated cost of the project between Rs 750 million andRs 800 million.
