Construction work on Jagadishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra Gas Pipeline Project is likely to complete by March 2025. Its commissioning has been delayed from June 2024 owing to delay in right of use (RoU) availability.
Besides, the majority of the pipeline has been constructed and gas supply has commenced on the route.
The project, being implemented by GAIL (India) Limited, involves construction of a 3,306 km long pipeline from Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh to Haldia in West Bengal at an investment of Rs 129.4 billion. The pipeline extends through Hazira- Bijaipur- Jagdishpur pipeline. Phase I has a capacity of 16 million metric standard cubic metre per day (mmscmd) which will be further augmented to 32 mmscmd in Phase II.
