In a recent development, Thermax Limited has won a contract of more than Rs 5 billion for setting up five bio- compressed natural gas (CNG) plants each in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and two in the state of Maharashtra.
The plants with production capacity of 110 tonnes per day (tpd) would utilise 1,000 tpd local feedstock including Napier grass, rice straw, cane trash and soya trash to produce bio-CNG for commercial and captive use. The establishment of these plants reflects the company’s vision and future objectives, aligning with global energy transition goals.
