Government of Haryana (GoH) has drafted Haryana Compressed Biogas (CBG) Policy-2026 to promote CBG production. The proposed policy proposes to offer various financial and administrative incentives to companies, entrepreneurs, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), cooperatives, dairies, cow shelters, and other eligible investors who establish CBG plants.
The policy includes panchayat land on 30 year lease, grants of about Rs 0.4 billion per project, electricity charge reimbursement for 20 years, electricity subsidy of Rs 2 per unit for the first five years, tax and fee exemptions, and relief from land use change (CLU).
It aims to increase production of CBG from straw, cow dung, municipal organic waste, sugar mill pressmud, sugarcane residue, and Napier grass.
