In a notable development, the Government of Rajasthan has approved the Rajasthan City Gas Distribution (CGD) Policy 2025, which will remain in effect until March 31, 2029.
The policy includes expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) networks in small towns and urban areas through simplified, time bound regulatory procedures and dedicated CGD portal. It would ensure supply of clean, safe and environment-friendly natural gas to reduce carbon emissions across the state.
