Government of Rajasthan (GoR) aims to facilitate 20,000 new Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections by September 2026.
City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies have been directed by the GoR to develop retail models with oil marketing firms and expand infrastructure through decompression units and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) based system and to raise awareness amongst the households about the benefits of switching from Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) to PNG, including uninterrupted supply, convenience, and improved safety.
Priority would be given to government quarters in Gandhinagar, Civil Lines, Vidyadhar Nagar, and Malviya Nagar, with land already allotted for a CDU station in Gandhinagar and PNG connections planned for circuit houses.
CGD companies have connected 21,240 households and 240 industrial and commercial units to PNG in May and June 2026. About 1,75,000 households and 1,553 establishments are connected to the CGD network in the state.
