Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is planning to provide around 125 million piped natural gas (PNG) connections across the country by 2032.

Besides, around 11.9 million PNG connections, including the allocations to below poverty line (BPL) families, have been provided till October 2023.

The PNG connections are provided as per Minimum Work Programme (MWP) authorised by PNGRB. PNGRB has authorised 300 geographical areas (GAs) covering about 98 per cent of the population and 88 per cent of the total GA of the country, covering around 630 districts in 28 states/ union territories across the country for the development of the city gas distribution (CGD) target.
